Glendalough Distillery gives you a whole new style of single grain Irish whiskey, aged first in American Bourbon barrels and finished in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks.

Suggested Serve: Neat, on the rocks or in a cocktail.

 

Glendalough Irish Mule:

Ingredients:

  • 60ml Double Barrel
  • 15ml Fresh Lime Juice
  • Top up with Jamaican Ginger Beer
  • 3 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Garnish Lime wheel

      Tools:

      • Barspoon
      • Glass Highball

      Directions:

      1. Pour the whiskey and lime juice into an ice-filled glass.
      2. Add the ginger beer, stir, then bitters on top and garnish with lime wheel.

      Tasting Notes:
      The nose is slight for a whiskey, but undoubtedly rich with dark fruit, cherry, raisin, fig - Christmas cakey - along with floral notes and lemongrass.

      The taste is sweet and creamy on the palate to the front, with butterscotch, honey and peppercorn. Followed by dried fruit returning maraschino cherries and a pinch of brown sugar.

      The finish has drifting notes of ginger spices and sweet vanilla with a faint shaving of almond to end a complex whiskey from start to finish.
